Chiropractic Care You Can Trust in Townsville

Mark O'Brien Chiropractic has been providing chiropractic care to Townsville and the surrounding region for more than 25 years, working from our clinic at 156 Bundock St, West End, with a monthly visiting service in Hughenden for patients further west. We keep things clear and straightforward from the start, so you always know what we are doing and why, and every plan of care is built around your individual needs and goals rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you are dealing with back or neck pain, recovering from an injury, or simply want to look after your long-term spinal health, Mark O'Brien Chiropractic is here to help Townsville locals move and feel better.

Meet Mark O'Brien

Mark O'Brien is a fully qualified, Australian Registered Chiropractor holding a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and a Bachelor of Applied Science, having completed a five-year accredited chiropractic university program.

He has been a member of the Chiropractors' Association of Australia (CAA) since 1996, and Mark O'Brien Chiropractic is also registered with the Department of Veterans' Affairs and all major private health funds, so eligible patients can claim their care where applicable.

Mark founded the practice to give Townsville patients the kind of straightforward, personally delivered care he believed the region needed: a local clinic where patients see the same experienced practitioner visit after visit, rather than being shuffled between different providers. That commitment to consistency and personal attention remains at the centre of how Mark O'Brien Chiropractic operates today.

Our Approach to Care

Understanding First & Second Treatments

Mark O'Brien Chiropractic uses a considered, two-visit process for every new patient.

Your first visit is dedicated to a thorough consultation and physical assessment, so we properly understand what is going on before recommending anything.

At your second visit, we walk you through our findings in plain language and set out a tailored care plan, giving you the chance to ask questions and feel confident about your options before any ongoing treatment begins.

We believe this unhurried approach leads to better outcomes than rushing straight into treatment on day one, and it is one of the reasons many of our Townsville patients have stayed with us for years.

Techniques We Use

Mark O'Brien Chiropractic offers a range of chiropractic techniques so that care can be tailored to each patient's age, condition and personal preference, including several gentle, low-force options for patients who prefer them. Techniques used across our Townsville and Hughenden patients include the Diversified Technique, Activator Technique, Torque Release Technique, Sacro-Occipital Technique, Thompson Drop-Table Technique, and Advanced BioStructural Correction. Having this range available means Mark O'Brien Chiropractic can adapt care to suit patients of all ages, from young children to older adults, rather than applying the same approach to everyone.

Who We Help

Mark O'Brien Chiropractic works with Townsville patients across a wide range of conditions including pain relief, posture  correction, general wellbeing, preventative spinal health, and sports performance support. Our patients range from tradies and office workers dealing with pain from daily activity, through to athletes wanting to stay in peak condition and older patients focused on maintaining mobility and independence. Whatever brings you in, Mark O'Brien Chiropractic takes the time to understand your individual circumstances before recommending a plan of care suited to your goals.
